Provide a BMS installation to new state of the art college facilities in central Leeds
Project Challenges
Challenges we overcome
- City centre location & occupied areas
- Multiple control panels and systems
- Phased works & construction constraints
Project overview
In 2020, Brit Systems were appointed as the electrical contractor for Leeds City College to provide the BMS installation to new state of the art college facilities in central Leeds.
Leeds City College is one of the largest further education institutions in the country with more than 20,000 students and is one of the biggest providers of apprenticeships regionally.
This project really excited us as it came with some challenges and obstacles for us to overcome as it was in a city centre location and had phased works and construction constraints.
We managed this by efficiently organising the project management of the BMS installation across multiple plant rooms. As well as the Installation of the BMS system we also had the following work to be carried out: FCU’s, AHU’s, and control panel modifications. We planned to install multiple control panels, FCU networks, external roof-mounted AHU’s, VAV’s, and multiple monitoring points exactly as the client wanted.
By planning this efficiently our engineers were able to complete all installations on time and snag free which was such a great achievement for such a large scale project with its constraints.
